June 2009 -Sustainable transit city in the Netherlands. Heavy bike use, upwards of 40% of all transit trips made by bicycle in Groningen . Notice some potentially hazardous road sharing conditions but never saw an accident over the course of a year. The Dutch are just that good!. We could use some of these compact cities in the US. Amazing place!
